A Berimbau Orchestra for a special Friday Axé!

The berimbau is the main instrument in capoeiragem – well, every capoeirista already knows this, since the berimbau today is the flag that identifies us as capoeiristas and as being involved in Brazilian culture.

But this single-stringed instrument can do so much more than we imagine, if we start to practise it and observe the sounds that we can produce with it. That's why, for this Friday Axé, we are going to give special attention to the Berimbau.

Our special guest for this Friday is Professor Gilberto (Capoeira Angola Zimba), who is going to offer us his capoeiristic and artistic experience with the berimbau, allowing us to practice various rhythms and variations that we can do when we play in a roda, or when we do our own solo performances.

Gilberto is one of these capoeiristas who, when they play or give a berimbau class, are able to transmit all their energy, happiness and creativity with the rhythms and variations that are produced when the berimbau is played.

Come, and bring your berimbau, for us to make a great Orchestra before the roda and create the Axé that we seek every Friday.
