London - England
Capoeira MarAzul Group started in London, England, in August 2004, seeking to increase our knowledge through sharing experiences with various cultural sectors in the UK and across Europe.
Today MarAzul offers a range of classes, programmes and events that involve Capoeira andother aspects of Brazilian culture. These programmes have strengthed the cultural integration between the various Capoeira groups in the UK, and with other people and groiups that celebrate and promote Brazilian culture.
In March 2005 we developed a partnership with the charity 'Project Gem', which for some years has been using Capoeira as a means of working with disadvantaged children and young people in England and Brazil.
On the News page on this site, you can find information about all the events that we have held in London, and about future events in London, Brazil and Mozambique. One of the key programmes that contributes to our objective of cultural integration is the open rodas every Friday, and the special Friday Axé events which are held monthly, where a guest teacher gives a workshop, holds a roda, and then there is a chance to chat about his or her experiences in the world of capoeiragem.

"The more we seek, the more we learn. The more we learn, the more we grow. The more we grow, the greater our desire to grow. The greater our desire to grow, the more we satisfy our soul. The more we satisfy our soul, the more we breathe life. The more we breathe life, the stronger we feel. The stronger we feel, the more capable we feel. The more capable we feel, the more we feel prepared to confront all our goals, and with them grow, grow and grow."
