Mestre Joãozinho da Figueira

This Friday (27th July) we have a special fundraising roda for you all, together with Amazonas.
We are helping raise funds for a small fishing village in north-east Brazil, to support the school and nursery there which are in dire needs of support and equipment. Amazonas have had links and friendships with this village for many years, and one of their students, Claire, now lives there with her children.
Anything you can contribute will be an enormous help to them, and you can feel good about having a direct impact on people who really need your help. This is what capoeira’s all about – helping others in any way we can. There’s some information attached, and Claire will be there on Friday with some photos and to tell you about the situation in more detail.
All donations are welcome – apart from money, you can also bring along any school materials, pencils, pads, coloured paper, educational toys, puzzles, or anything else you would like to donate!
As Rilene said ‘we hope you can come along to support us in this special occasion, and at the same time share our love for capoeira and the world’.
Enough said, hope to see you on Friday –
Grande Axé!
M. Joãozinho da Figueira & Suzannah
For more information on the cause – Prainha do Canto Verde (Word document).
Date & Time: Friday, 27th July 2007 from 7-10pm
Price: Cost of the hall shared by all the people there, plus any donation you want to give. Venue: West Kensington Tenants Association Hall, 70 Lillie Road, West Brompton, SW6 1TN. Click here for a map
