Mestre Joãozinho da Figueira

Simon Fantasma

It is with great pleasure that we invite all capoeiristas and everybody interested in Afro-Brazilian culture, to the second Special Friday Axé Event of MarAzul Capoeira Group in the UK.
For this second special Friday Axé event, we have the honour of welcoming one of the best known capoeiristas in the UK. He represents the unity of this movement, which is growing every day, with new students and the many capoeiristas, teachers and mestres that always come through London, contributing to the growth of capoeira in the UK.
Simon Fantasma is the central person in this movement, providing support, sharing experiences and above all, always welcoming people when they arrive.
For us, he is a source of pride and respect, for practicing, teaching and promoting the art of Capoeira Angola with its principles and rituals, using a simple and natural language, but with wisdom and malícia, which he has acquired over the years that he has been living and breathing capoeira.
We know that this English guy is really Brazilian by nature, he has much to tell us about his experience and life in the world of capoeiragem. It is a great pleasure to welcome him to this Special Friday Axé.
We hope that through these simple and practical events, we are doing the right CHAMADA, for a positive reply, for the growth of our culture, valuing those who practice it and fight for its preservation.
Everyone is welcome, because together we can contribute to this cultural capoeira movement, which fascinates us and fills us with happiness and pleasure when we are part of its RITUAL.
